Confirm your intended use
Before ordering or using data, define the campaign purpose, target market, communication channels and the lawful basis that applies to your organisation. A quotation confirms the Fresh Data UK product, sources, fields, area, time window, duplicate rules, format and schedule; it does not determine the buyer's legal basis.
Check records before contact
- Review the source link, collection date and available business details.
- Confirm that the business and contact route are still relevant to your campaign.
- Apply your internal suppression and do-not-contact lists.
- Remove or correct information that you know is inaccurate or outdated.
Telephone and electronic marketing
Business-to-business marketing can still involve personal information. Buyers must follow applicable UK GDPR and PECR requirements and respect objections to direct marketing.
Before live marketing calls, check the numbers against the Telephone Preference Service, Corporate Telephone Preference Service and your own do-not-call list, as applicable. Email, text and similar electronic marketing may have additional consent requirements, particularly for sole traders and some partnerships.
Use the ICO's business-to-business marketing guidance as a starting point and obtain professional advice for your particular campaign.
Permitted handling
- Limit access to authorised staff who need the information for the agreed purpose.
- Store files securely and use an appropriate transfer method.
- Do not publish, resell, redistribute or build a separate data product from supplied records unless this is expressly agreed in writing.
- Set a retention period and securely delete records that are no longer required.
- Keep evidence of suppression, objection and correction actions.
Corrections and duplicate rules
Duplicate handling, expected fields and any correction or replacement terms are confirmed before an order. If you identify a suspected issue, send the record reference, source URL and a short explanation to sales@freshdatauk.com so it can be reviewed against the agreed specification.
Public-source limitations
Business information and public announcements can change after collection. A public source may be edited, removed or corrected, and some fields are available only when the business has published them. Fresh Data UK confirms expected field coverage before an order and provides a sample where suitable matching data is available.
Order-specific terms
Pricing, availability, permitted users, delivery timing, duplicate treatment, corrections and any project-specific conditions are set out in the applicable quotation or written order confirmation. This page provides general operational guidance and is not legal advice.
